Something not working? Start here.

Epic Fields is free, and we've made it as intuitive as we know how. Most of what goes wrong is answered below, so it's worth a look before anything else.

If you find a bug, email support@mywildeye.com. It's logged as a ticket with our support teams in New Zealand, Australia and the western United States, the same people who look after Wildeye's monitoring customers: water districts and growers with water actually moving. Theirs are answered first, because somebody is usually standing in a paddock waiting on one. Epic Fields is free and queues behind that, so give us a little time.

The things people ask first

The outline came out wrong

Tap Edit on the field and the trackpad comes up. Drag any handle to move a corner, or drag the line between two handles to push that edge out. A single finger anywhere on the pad nudges the whole shape a little at a time, which is the quickest way to line an outline up with what you can see. Nothing is saved until you say so.

Nothing happens when I tap a field

Zoom in further. A field has to fill a reasonable part of the screen before the app can pick it out. Very small paddocks need to be closer still.

The first tap after installing takes a few seconds

That's the app building the detection models for your particular phone, which happens once and then never again until the app updates. A message says so while it's happening. Every tap after that should be quick.

There's no season movie for my field

A season is built from clear satellite passes, and a run of cloudy weeks leaves gaps. Fields a long way from a recent pass, or under persistent cloud, can have very little to show. The card under the movie says how many passes it found.

I want the volume in acre-feet, not just inches

The volume appears beside the depth once the app has reason to think the field is irrigated: you've said so in its settings, or the boundary came from a survey. Open the field's settings and tick that it's watered.

It's showing the wrong units

Units follow your phone's region setting. Change the region in iOS Settings and the app follows it.

What you need

An iPhone running iOS 18 or later, and a connection. There's no account to make, nothing to subscribe to and nothing to unlock. It is free, and there is no paid version waiting behind it.

Your fields, and getting rid of them

Your saved fields live on the phone and nowhere else. There's no account and no sync, so deleting the app takes them with it. There's nothing to close and nobody to ask.

What the app sends, what our server keeps, and what we can't promise are all set out on the privacy and disclaimer page.

Telling us a number looks wrong

Useful to include: roughly where the field is, what the app said, and what you expected. The imagery and weather come from public archives that can be late or wrong, and knowing which of those two is off is most of the work.
